A young mobile money agent has been tragically killed in a suspected robbery attack, sparking public outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of mobile money operators.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at around 7:00 PM when unknown assailants allegedly targeted the victim after she reportedly refused to comply with their demands. The attackers are said to have fled the scene shortly after the incident, leaving the agent fatally injured.
The victim, described by colleagues and residents as hardworking and peaceful, was operating her mobile money business at the time of the attack. Her death has sent shockwaves through 
the community, with many calling for increased security measures to protect mobile money agents, who are often targeted due to the nature of their work.
Police authorities have since launched investigations into the matter and appealed to the public for any information that may help track down the suspects. No arrests had been confirmed by press time.
This tragic incident adds to a growing list of attacks on mobile money operators, raising urgent questions about public safety, especially during evening business hours.
