The Electoral Commission (EC) together with top security agencies has held a high-level meeting with election observers ahead of the forthcoming electoral activities, aimed at strengthening coordination, transparency, and peaceful conduct of the electoral process.
The meeting brought together officials from the Electoral Commission, Uganda Police Force, other security organs, and representatives of both local and international election observer missions. Discussions focused on election preparedness, deployment plans, safety of observers, and adherence to electoral laws and guidelines.
EC officials emphasized their commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election, assuring observers of openness and cooperation throughout the process. They highlighted 
measures already put in place to improve logistics, voter education, and timely communication with stakeholders.
Security leaders, on the other hand, reassured observers of adequate security arrangements before, during, and after polling. They warned against acts of violence, voter intimidation, and disruption of electoral activities, noting that security agencies will act firmly within the law to maintain peace and order.
Election observers welcomed the engagement, describing it as a positive step towards transparency and confidence-building. They stressed the importance of continued collaboration and timely information sharing to ensure effective observation.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened public interest in the electoral process, with authorities calling on all stakeholders to uphold peace, respect the law, and participate responsibly in the democratic exercise.
